A road trip getaway + Vlog (FOOD POST/COSMETIC SHOPPING)

This time, I went to Malacca for a 3 days 2 nights getaway right before my school starts & also to start the year right with shopping & playing! HAHAHAA

If you are looking for a place to indulge in very cheap & awesome food, shopping beauty products & don't want to travel too far, Malacca is a place & you are at the right page. I hope this blog post will make you salivating and end up flooding your room. HAHAHAH!

I would say Malacca is safer than JB a thousand times.

I didn't get any clothes except for some spag tops which are dead cheap & prolly boring to share here. (it's because I don't have the photos of the spag tops, anyway, it's very common)

and because I'm going on a shopping spree this friday with Cor so more stuff to sell here too! :)

If you are willing to pay RM 60 & above on a blouse/dress, then good for you, you can get really trendy clothes. But their cheaper end clothes are usually either sold in the last piece, basically the ones on display which I don't really like or those that are not very nice, those that you wouldn't want to wear in Singapore. It's too Malaysia style. (If you know what I mean dear...)

I spend more on cosmetics products!!!!

Let me begin my journey with you.

I woke up at 5:45am that morning because our coach was scheduled to leave SG at 8am. So yes, it's damn early but I prefer reaching malacca earlier instead of wasting 1 day off just because of the 3 hours drive up.

If you want to purchase this bomber jacket from me, scroll all the way down to the end of the post to view pricing.

A mandatory selfie photo before leaving home.

I ALWAYS don't look good in the morning because of my puffy eyes & face.
I'm satisfied with these photos because the shades actually help cover almost 1/2 of my fat face.
DSC03388DSC03389
Complexion is really bad as well due to imbalance hormones.
I have freaking so many problems. -.-'''

DSC03390
Bought these to keep me slightly awake throughout the whole 3 hour journey but it apparently failed.
1111?45 FACT about me: I LOVE SOUR PLUMS & I can eat 1 bottle mouthful of this!

THE HEALTHIER PART IS THAT I DON'T EAT SOUR PLUM OFTEN.
I only eat these prolly once in a few months. :)

Location: Hotel Equatorial Level 3

DSC03407
OTAH, A MUST ORDER DISH,
This normally comes before the others.
DSC03411
Ayam Buah keluak!
A nonya restaurant is nothing without this authentic dish.

All you need is rice & this gravy!
You can eat like 4-5 plates of rice. Bottomless pit, seriously!
It's toooooo appetising!

DSC03408
Remember, I need soup in every meal? HAHA
Ordered this & wow, it turns out really enriching. It's not the typical kind of chicken soup but it's just nice lah, go try.

We intend to try out their steamboat on our next trip!
Hopefully their soup would taste as good as this!

DSC03412
A lot of spicy dishes huh. Yeah, it's mainly spicy stuffs.

This one of the reasons why I ordered soup.
:)

FOOD TO EAT AT MALACCA #3: TANG SHI FU

Location:
Hatten Square
&
Dataran Pahlawan

Okay, I know you all are damn confused with the location names etcs & prolly find it troublesome to look them up on google maps.

Dont worry, you know why?

CUZ WE SPENT OUT 3DAYS2NIGHTS IN MALACCA WITHOUT ANY OTHER MODES OF TRANSPORT OTHER THAN WALKING!

NO CAB, JUST PURE WALKING & THEY ARE JUST A STONE'S TROW AWAY FROM WHERE OUR HOTEL IS! WILL LET YOU KNOW WHERE TO STAY & ALL YOU NEED IS JUST A MAP,

I mean as a tourist first time/2nd time visiting a place, you need maps. So yeh.

DSC03443
A MUST ORDER!
HERBAL MEE SUA SOUP!!!!!!!!!
OMG,
BF had this & I was thinking that it's quite stupid to order the same dish, we can share.

The next day, I went back to Tang Shi Fu just to have this HERBAL MEE SUA SOUP FOR MYSELF!
HAHAHAHAHAH

THIS DISH CONTAINS SLICED ABALONE,  GINSENG, OTHER HERBS.
PRICE? EXPENSIVE?
HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It cost barely SGD10 per bowl. I think like SGD7 only la!!!
GOOD AND HEALTHY INGREDIENTS = OMG, IT'S CHEAP!!!

DSC03442
Bf ordered this chicken dish for me, he said it's good for my body hormones stuffs, really meh.
HAHA, just eat!

DSC03440
So like what I've mentioned, he ate the herbal mee sua soup right?
I ordered this! This is good too!!!

THIS DISH CONTAINS MUSHROOM, SMALL ABALONE!
HOW MUCH?
LESS THEN SGD7?

ALL THANKS TO THE EXCHANGE RATE MAN!!
HAHAHHAA

THIS IS SIMPLY A PLACE TO BRING YOUR PARENTS/GRANDPARENTS!
even youngsters enjoy this place too!

DSC03436
Sour Plum drink that W loves loves a lot so we decided to order this!

I went back to packet home their honey lemon tea before heading back to the hotel cuz that's actually my favourite too!

FOOD TO EAT AT MALACCA #4: NANDO'S

Location:
MARKOTA PARADE (NEXT TO PAHLAWAN SHOPPING CENTRE)

YOU MUST BE WONDERING WHY GO ALL THE WAY THERE TO HAVE NANDO'S WHEN WE HAVE IT HERE IN SINGAPORE?!!
& I HAVE EATEN IT A FEW TIMES LAST MONTH, WHY EAT IT AGAIN?!!!

READ ON..

DSC03447
OKAY, SAUCES ARE NOTHING EXCEPTIONAL, TASTE EXACTLY THE SAME & THEY ARE ACTUALLY SELLING THEM AT SUPERMARKETS, OMGOSH.. -.-''

DRINKS, NOTHING SPECIAL.

DSC03454

CHICKEN LOOK THE SAME?

NO, THE SIZE OF THE CHICKEN PORTION THEY GAVE IS 1.5 TIMES BIGGER THAN WHAT YOU GET IN SINGAPORE NANDO'S.
Okay, you might be thinking that it's just 1 chicken size & they prolly use kampong chicken but at nando's malacca, they don't. Kampong chickens are generally smaller in size.

SECONDLY, THEIR SKIN IS GRILLED TO PERFECTION! Unlike Singapore, they usually want to do it quick so it kinda still taste good but not as good as the one we had in malacca.

MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!!!!!!!
OMG LISTEN UP

A MEAL PLATTER FOR 2 IN SINGAPORE IS ABOUT SGD 50++

A MEAL PLATER FOR 2 IN MALACCA OR EVEN OTHER PARTS OF MALAYSIA COST RM45++.
OMG!!!!

YOU DO YOUR MATH, DO YOUR CONVERSION!
THAT'S ABOUT LIKE SGD 20++ FOR A MEAL PLATTER?

OMGOSH.

FOOD TO EAT AT MALACCA #5: CHICKEN RICE BALL

EE JI BAN CHICKEN RICE BALL
Location: 275 (Jalan Melaka Raya 3), Malacca, Melaka

Forget about the one at jonker street, the red looking shop or something.

It's expensive, Q so long as if that is the only chicken rice ball shop in Malacca, just because it's located at a tourist place doesn't mean it's the best.

Good and authentic food places are usually recommended by the locals there. & my cousins stays there so yes!!!

DSC03465
I don't usually order roasted chicken when it comes to chicken rice.
I prefer white chicken that is purely boiled & covered with their black sauces!

But because W likes it so yeh, you know, girls shouldn't be pampered all the time, sometimes you need to accommodate with each other's preferences.

So we ordered half white and half roasted chicken, so in total, 1 chicken.
You must be thinking that we are crazy to order 1 whole chicken for just 2 pax.

BUT, remember, I mentioned that kampong chicken are generally smaller in size? YES, indeed smaller. :)

DSC03462
REMEMBER REMEMBER?
I NEED SOUP IN EVERY MEAL! SO I ORDERED THIS FISH BALL SOUP IN MEDIUM SIZE.
Damn awesome, i tell you. Each time I visit this place, I will order this bowl of soup!

DSC03466
I didn't manage to complete my portion of the meal because I was having a sudden stiff neck.
I think it's the heat in my body or prolly didn't sleep well.(shouldn't be because the hotel bed is damn good)

DONE WITH FOOD POST!

NOW COMES TO COSMETICS!!

I was actually quite disappointed to know that half of the things on my to-buy-list are not found anywhere in malacca watsons & sasa..

I was looking for BB watergel lotion but for some reasons, they don't have it.

That's not all, some other products too..

BUT, I managed to get some at really good deal!

I've Vlog about it!

I videoed myself playing darts at the pub!

I'm damn sorry that I speak rather slow in the first part of the video. I really didn't have enough sleep before my road trip & it was a long day!!!

pardon me!

As usual, if you don't want to watch it, you can read about what I've gotten here.
READ! :)

DSC03419
MAINLY ALL,
I bought more masks actually :)
DSC03422
Avene Thermal Spring Water!
I've tried it once & yes, my skin instantly became soften and smoother!

& it kept me refreshed! :)
It's like 110RM. I only I mentioned 100 RM in the video.
So cheap, just buy!

DSC03425
Beauticians always use collagen to reduce puffiness under your eyes which are known as eye bags.
I got this eye mask for RM26.90
DSC03423
Ex-foliating gel cleanser. Before face mask, wash your face with THIS!

The sasa girl recommended this to me, so i buy. but it's also because I know i need exfoliator for my FACE.

RM 60+

DSC03426
Heard good reviews on this. & I'm sure you do!
How much is this?..
hmmm..
RM62.90

THAT'S ALL

NOW COMES THE MOST IMPORTANT PART

HOW TO GET TO MALACCA THE CHEAPEST & EASIEST WAY & HOW TO GET FROM PLACES TO PLACES BY WALKING??

1. BOOK A COACH TO BRING YOU TO MALACCA AND BACK TO SINGAPORE
THROUGH:

PIT STOP: YONG PENG
20 minutes toilet break, you can grab food from there

WHOLE JOURNEY TAKES ABOUT 3 HOURS.

2. BOOK YOUR HOTEL
THROUGH:
OR
Basically get the cheapest deal.

Choose either hotel equatorial/hatten hotel
(we prefer hatten because the hotel is big, comfortable and the hotel breakfast has more variety)

3. THE END

That's not all la!

The bus will stop at Hotel equatorial, Hatten hotel is just right across/opposite.

Get a map/Ask someone how to walk there.

The shopping malls we hang out at are Pahlawan Shopping Centre & Makota Parade.
& Maybe Hatten Square.

THATS ALL YOU NEED, THE BIGGEST SHOPPING PLACE IS ALL THERE

& It's just right in front of Hatten Hotel which is also very near to Hotel Equatorial!

So that's where I got all my cosmetics from, to be exact, go to any watsons, sasa in the 2 shopping malls.

FOOD!

HERE'S THE TOUGHER PART TO EXPLAIN

you need a map,
I've roughly circled out the places!

SEE, IT'S DAMN CLOSE TO EACH OTHER RIGHT!
YOU WANT TO GO JONKER STREET? EASY, TAKE THE MAP & WALK THERE. TAKES 10-15 MINUTES ONLY.

BAK KUT TEH: Malacca Raya 4
EE JI BAN CHICKEN RICE BALL: 275 (Jalan Melaka Raya

BAK KUT TEH & CHICKEN RICE BALL ARE PROLLY HARDER TO LOCATE CAUSE YOU REALLY NEED A MAP.

NONYA FOOD: Hotel Equatorial Level 3
TANG SHI FU: Hatten Square & Dataran Pahlawan
NANDO'S: MARKOTA PARADE (NEXT TO PAHLAWAN SHOPPING CENTRE)

I think I helped you guys a lot!
